Playing in the third tier of English football as recently as 2011, Brighton and Hove Albion’s meteoric rise has put Brighton firmly back on the map as one of England’s top sporting cities.

 

This season has seen the Seagulls reach the FA cup semi-final and compete for qualification for European competition, playing a high-octane, entertaining style under Italian coach Roberto de Zerbi.

 

Visitors to ECP 2023 may be able to book a place on a stadium tour of the AMEX Community Stadium, located just outside of the city in Falmer. More details on how to enquire about availabilty are available on the club website.

Cricket

The area’s other major sporting club, Sussex County Cricket club, are three-times winners of the County Championship, and claimed the Twenty20 Cup in 2009.

 

Superstars such as England’s Jofra Archer and Pakistan’s Shadab Khan turn out for the county – if you’re in town early, Sussex host Gloucestershire in the Vitality Blast on Saturday 1 July at the club’s home ground in Hove.
