Presentation Guidelines

ECP 2023

We are delighted to publish our complete scientific programme for the European Congress of Psychology 2023. Please note: This programme is accurate at the time of publishing and may be subject to change.

To view the room and time for your session(s) please see the Scientific Programme.

Please note that the 30 June deadline is for Oral, Panel Discussions and Symposia presentations only. Posters must be printed, and it is the responsibility of the presenter to print the poster and bring it with them to ECP 2023.

Oral Presentation

Each presenter has been allocated 15 minutes on the programme including 3 minutes for questions and discussions. Please make sure you are aware of the running time of your presentation. ECP 2023 has multiple steams running so we must keep them all aligned in terms of timings.

All sessions will have a chair who will introduce presenters and facilitate the smooth and timely running of the session. In keeping with convention at events such as ECP 2023, we are asking that the final presenter in each 90 minute session acts as chair.  The key roles of the chair will be to introduce each individual speaker’s name and title, and ensure that the session runs to time. To ensure that ECP 2023 runs to schedule, we’re asking speakers to keep strictly to the time allocated for their slot. The chair will inform you of the time remaining in your slot as it elapses, and bring the session to a close once your allotted time has ended.

Please note that an internet connection will not be available for presenters to run your presentations

Posters

Posters at ECP 2023 will now be in traditional paper format. A copy of your poster does not need to be provided before ECP 2023. To help keep the environmental impact as low as possible, we want to encourage delegates to have their posters printed in an environmentally-friendly way, and to ensure they are recycled following the event if not retained as a memento.

Each poster presenter must stand by their poster during the poster session to answer any questions from delegates.

Support with creating your poster:

– Printing: We recommend printing your poster in A1 size (841mm high and 594mm wide – Portrait ).

– Font: The font size of the title should be at least 80-point font size, bold face. The font size of the section headers should be at least 32-point font size, bold face. The font size of the body of the poster (abstract, background, methods, results, discussion) should be between 18 and 26 points.

– Design: When creating your poster and presentation, consider how you will make your content accessible to all. Here are a few helpful tips:

Structure your poster using the following headings:

  1. Background; methods; results; discussion.
  2. Use short sentences or bullet points.
  3. Break up the text as much as possible using figures, diagrams, tables and images. This will make your poster more attractive and easier to read.

Please note that all posters must be printed, and it is the responsibility of the presenter to print the poster and bring it with them to ECP 2023.  Each poster has been allocated a poster stand number that can be seen on the programme. The poster stand number represents the presenter’s position in the room and this position can not be changed.

All posters must be secured to the poster stands using Velcro and this will be provided to each presenter in the presentation room upon arrival.

It is the responsibility of the presenter to remove their poster at the end of the session.
